Cultivating Excellence with Volunteer Voices

ACDA Southern Regional Conference, March 12, 2020

Directors of volunteer church choirs face numerous challenges: unevenly balanced sections, singers with limited music reading experience, small or seasonally fluctuating numbers, and singers with an eclectic mix of vocal habits. Add to this the challenge of limited budgets, frequently changing church priorities, and the pressure of singing for worship every seven days! Pursuing musical excellence can seem like a distant dream.

This workshop is designed to empower church and community choir directors with practical strategies for building musicianship skills, improving singing technique, instilling better rehearsal habits, and improving the overall sound of their choir. Each strategy is designed with volunteer singers in mind, and with the understanding that the director has very limited rehearsal time to work with.
